See what I see

I see you as:
The little girl.
Not the one hiding
behind the bushes
but the little girl who
once made mud pies
and enjoyed the dirt
squishing between her fingers.
The little girl who once chased
butterflies and fireflies.
The little girl that used to save
all the neighborhood animals
from their sure demise.
The little girl with a smile
so sweet and innocent
it could wash away all
fears.
The little girl who twirled
in circles in the rain,
just to dance in the mudpuddles.
And the little girl who
stayed out in the sun too long
just because the warmth felt
good upon her face.
I see you as;
the woman who has
forgotten.
Standing in front
of a mirror,
searching, but
not seeing.
What I see.
I see the cut facets,
the prismatic effect
your light has
on my heart.
I see the little girl.
The one you wish to be,
the one stilled deep inside.
I have no other longing
greater or stronger
than to help you
see what I see.
The little girl.
Not the one hiding
behind the bushes
but the little girl who
once made mud pies
and enjoyed the dirt
squishing between her fingers.
The little girl who once chased

Date: 2004-01-27 02:51 am (UTC)Creativity has struck me slightly senseless.
I am hoping that becomes a good thing.
