Wow, I have so been slackin'. I have been a busy girl this week. No excuse, I know. First off, kudos go to [livejournal.com profile] faekitty for the icon info. Very cute stuff. Think I am gonna make a few, just for special occasions.
It really has been a wild week for me. My office is trying to kill me. Or at least kill what ounce of sanity and patience I have left. Busy as hell, no help, and I am just not getting the supply of things I need to run the practice. Went for a job interview on Thurs. for a second job. Spent my entire day on it in one form or another. It is for a PR position at the Chiropracter's office B works at. The Dr. I interviewed with seem pretty stoked about having me jump on board with them. Even if it is just one day a week for now. He wants me to cold call lawyers and speak to them about personal injury cases and give presentations on how the Chiropracter's practice works with those. And from what we spoke about, it will eventually turn into a marketing type of thing. Pretty neat thing to put on my resume, plus I work in an enviroment suited well for growth. That is a BIG plus! I am hoping that with the pay structure the way it is that eventually I can either go there full time or split my time between the two practices.
Also, big life altering decision this week. I know what I want to be when I grow up. I have been seriously thinking about the whole school thing. And I just don't think me jumping into a 4 year program to get my B.S. in Biochem is such a smart move right off the bat. I know me. I know how I get when I feel like I am not getting to the place I want fast enough. So I looked into what programs KSU might have that would be up that alley, but not so in depth. They have a two year certificate program in Forensic Chemistry. Woohoo!! And the program itself is designed to be a building block to the Biochem degree. Just what I was looking for!!!
And for any of you blues lovers out there.... Found the most magnificent club. Darwin's in Marietta. Very small and intimate. The girl who plays up there on Tues. is just phenomenal!! I now know what would happen if Elle Fitzgerald and Ani DiFranco had offspring. Her name is Lara and ya'll should seriously try to go check her out!
This weekend was really nice. Sat. night I went up to Athens and spent time with ljless Heather and [livejournal.com profile] javakittie. That was really nice. Girls slumber party type thing. It felt nice to just let go a bit and be myself. No worries about judgements, no concerns over saying the wrong thing.
Tonight we had rehearsal. The performance is Friday and I for some reason just feel behind. I have been practicing a ton in my down time, but I still feel like there are a couple places in the new songs where I just need to let go. I keep holding something in. Fear of ridicule maybe... But I am not letting myself go. Except on the one new one that we are doing, which totally pounds my soul. I love it.
After practice, went over to visit with [livejournal.com profile] isarma and [livejournal.com profile] hellbillywinter. I was feeling pretty low on myself after rehearsal and they made it all better. Just like always. Gods, I love my friends.
Tomorrow night I hope to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] faekitty and [livejournal.com profile] sir_alf. Hopefully no flat tires, sickies or anything else to get in our way!
Ok...so been a while and I am long winded. Bite me ;)
