SECO news:

Well, SECO has come and gone. Got to go to many interesting lectures. Some were incredibly lame. I had a few that were overlaps in info with others. Met some really interesting folks. Got to spend time with some of the product reps and drool over some of the new frame lines. Ran into the Doc that sold off our two offices. Weirdo man. He is just a freak and in the psycho way, not in the cute and strange kinda weird like I am. Ran into my former employer, Dr. Shithead. Heard him say my 'legal' name from behind me as I was talking to a contact lens rep. My stomach bottomed out somewhere past my toes. I turned around and there he was....in all his fuckball-edness. Asshole. He was surprised to see me. The last he knew, I was on my way to Oregon. He asked a lot of pertinent questions about what I had been doing, where I was working etc. Told me that his old office manager had a request for an employment referral before she moved to Florida. Which would have been in regard to the job I wanted so badly at Ciba. So apparently, he hasn't been the one being such a fuckhead about employment references. It had to have been her. If I ever get my hands on her scrawny little neck I am going to ring it. Anyway, I was quite proud of myself for the way I ended up handling the situation. I was really nervous I might have to before hand.
Last night we had a nice dinner meeting for all us girls. No Docs present, just staff. I can already tell right now I am going to have difficulties with one of the girls who is taking over as practice admin. NO, she will NOT run my office from a remote location. Did that when Jeff owned the office and I constantly got screwed.
We stayed at the Renaissaince Hotel last night, with three of us wild girls in one room. We had a lot of fun and I slept like death.

In Chamber news:

Ok, so we got to the Chamber last night and there was a line from hell. The troops all got there around 10-10:30ish. I didn't arrive until closer to 10:45. They had raised the cover fee to $25 by the time we got to the door. I don't mind it so much because I know they will put it back into the new club eventually. The place was packed. Was a bit (sarcasm intended) more crowded than I would've liked and infringed a bit on my comfort level. I wasn't the only one in my group that felt this way also. Got to see Maggie perform. Goddess bless, that woman is beautiful. And she so knows how to work her audience. You know, I got to thinking about the downturn in the Chamber's number of people going on a regular basis... and I will almost bet it coincides just around the time that Maggie (and some of the other lovelies) were no longer there. Personal opinion of course, but rooted in observation. I didn't stay near as long as I would've wished for, but long enough to see what I went there for. My feet were on fire due to all the walking and such I have had to do the past few days. So, putting my boots back on, after I had taken them off, proved to be impossible. Talked out in the car with B for a bit before I returned to the hotel room.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend.
